FMT Challenge 173 - Rope String

I finally made it, Michele. Here my two tiles for your guest challenger entry at Joey's website, Finish My Tile #173. Loved your rope string so I used the same string for both my tiles.

The string on the first tile is populated with several different tangles.

Finish My Tile (FMT) #173 with Patterns: Ving, Wud, Netti, Flux, Steps, Twisted Rope
Patterns: Ving, Wud, Netti (correction: Natti), Flux, Steps, Twisted Rope

...and my second one is a monotangle tile using Narwal. The string just asked for this tangle. I thought.

Patterns: Narwal

A big thank you, Michele, for a great guest challenge!

  1. Two wonderful tiles for this challenge with fantastic colours. How do you manage to create such bright colours???
I prefer the colours of the second tile but the first tile is my favorite because I like this original composition with little spaces and again lovely tiny variations on the tangles (especially on Natty)

    1. My dear Ria, thank you so much for your always very welcome comment. The cover of my color pencil box says Neon colors, but I think the colors seem to shiny more when leaving that sparkle space which I just love to draw. Plus I have to touch up the photo a bit in Photoshop else I would have only non-descriptive faded square blocks in my posts. Natty is my Natty from the alphabet challenge letter N. It is from Anita Aspfors Westin whom I first had no idea who that was, but know her now through the DIVA challenges. I wrote Netti, didn't I. Thanks Ria, will correct that instantly. (Sorry, Anita!)

    1. Thanks, Deanne. When I first came across Narwal I didn't dare to even consider drawing it. It was several levels above my drawing ability. But once I overcame my inner you-know-what I found it easy and loved it right away. Funny how we sometimes misjudge tangles.

    1. Thank you, Gudrun. I am not a color person and was tempted to change it into a more subtle tile in Photoshop. But that would have been 'cheating'. 😉

    1. Oh, thank you so much, Heidi, for your kind comment. Sometimes a tile turns out just fine, but then I have days I can't get it right. Maybe we all suffer from these lapses of accomplishments and I am not the only one.

  7. Hello Susie. Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog last week - but seriously, what are you on woman! Your work is amazing. Truly incredible. I think it's funny, but we all see things in others art that we admire and aspire to. We're all pushing and encouraging each other on to better things. I'm so glad you commented, I'm so glad I found you. I need to suck up all the inspiration I can get from you!

    1. Oh mai, there is nothing I can give or show you, you do not already much much better...down to the tile hinge you drew. But I am flattered you came over to give me a visit and left this beautiful comment. Thank you so much, RR.
