August 13 - SQRchain with a very complicated stepout. I simplified it by drawing 4 dots, draw the 4 square lines to almost touching the dots, draw the corners inwards, away from the dots and then aura'd the square 2x. For the over and undereffect I just left one side open.

August 4 - Pendrill. Whenever I drew Pendrill, or attempted to draw it, I had difficulties with the knot. It never looked "right" or eye-pleasing to me. So this time I practiced to the point where my 'knot' became an 8 wearing a hat...and then I exaggerated it to drive the point (practice makes perfect) home.

My new tangle Pen-8

My Pendrill '8' practice (bright yellow tile above) led me to my new tangle Pen-8. Early into my Pendrill-knot practce I knew there can be more to the '8'. So Pen-8 was created, here with Fontana.

Animal Happy Day

This is the very short story of Soraida, the Thai woman who built the world's first Elephant Hopsital in Lampang, Thailand. However, that is not how I first heard of her. The story that is not told in the short video below is much more heartbreaking and daring - it should be told in a movie. 

It was in 1993 when I heard that there was an elephant baby in Bangkok that had been hit by a lorry...

International Day of Zentangle IDOZ 2025 and Prompt #6 of 2025 Journal Project

Coofia, a tangle I wasn't friendly with at first. However, as I always say, if I have two left hands with a tangle (I am right-handed), take it for what it is: a REAL challenge. So here goes the Coofia development:

My first attempt:

Coofia. Getting a bit more questionable, but here and there still recognizable.

Coofia. OK - I can safely call this a Coofia tangleation or a Coofia well hidden.

Another sort-of Coofia. If the tangle is not obvious, blame it on Pokeroot, Flux, and Sez.

The iron grip Coofia has on me continues...

Coofia, simple and netty with some Sand Swirls and a ginkgo leaf (the ginkgo leaf for contrast😊 ).

Last but not least a flapping Coofia fluttering to I don't know where.

In the end, and all in all, I have to say that as more as I drew Coofia as more I liked it. We are still not BBFs, but hey, publish another Coofia challenge and I am in.

Animal Happy Day

You have to ask yourself...does he take showers by himself as well? It is no wonder he is called the smartest dog ever!

We had a rainy day a few days ago and that is when my wandering cats realize that this is still the best place to be - HOME. If I had three cats I bet the third would be stretched out on the hammock.
