Square One; Refresher 226 - 228; Two new Tangles; Inspired by...; 7 Forests 5 Rivers

Square One

Square One July 30 to August 5 featuring the tangle Aleuba. I added my new tangle Condor and a bit of I-Wings (see stepouts below).

The real Halfsies

Square One August 6-12 is Halfsies. I like Halfsies enough to sit a bit longer with it and look what I could do with it. Hence below my real Square One tile with an adaptation of Halfsies.

Tangle Pattern: Halfsies

Square One August 20-26 featuring Double Marasu. I added Joki and 2 new tangles I found on Annett Ruempler's website called Blattwerk and Bliili. Click on the names for stepouts. I also encourage you to have a look at all her other tangles if you don't already are familiar with them. It is worth your while, believe me.

Inspired by Zentangle Artists' Video Tutorials

It doesn't have to be complicated all the time and thus I gave this video tutorial by Tangle and Inspire a go. The tangles applied are Aki-Chain and Ayes. I added Fescu with a Ayes-leaf collars.

Lastly a tile I made based on the fragment B015. Recognizable fillers: Sez and Betweed.

From My Garden

I saw these leaves in an abandoned lot and knew I had to dig some out and adopt them into my garden family...

Leaves of spoon flower plant

...and they thanked me with this gorgeous spoon-like flower that sprung out at the base.

Animal Happy Day

If at first glance it looks bad...take another.
What I like on Animal Aid Unlimited in India are the touching words near the end of every video

And yet another animal rescue video I couldn't resist placing. It is an older one and a bit longer. When I watched it the first time years ago I was sitting at the edge of my seat crossing my fingers hoping all goes well. I was still sitting at the edge of my seat when I watched it again a few days ago...

C.O., my cat, taking a nap at his very own home entry/exit, my bedroom window. Here in Thailand we have mosquito netting in front of windows and doors. I have to leave my bedroom netting open so C.O. can enter. One day I accidentally closed them... Exactly, C.O. had no trouble shred...I mean opening them. He can be glad my Swiss blood isn't appreciated by Thai mosquitos.

C.O. taking a nap at his personal house entry/exit point

This post has turned out to be a bit long due to my laziness for posting. I'd rather draw tiles than clean up blog posts. So if you never make it to down here....I am not insulted. On the other hand, if you do make it down here I hope you have had time to watch the 2 animal videos despite one being a bit long. They are both worth your time though, believe me. Meanwhile C.O. and I thank you for visiting.

Meanwhile, stay tuned until my next - shorter - posting....

100 Days of Zentangle; 7F5R; Square One; Inspired by...; Refresher; New Tangle

7F5R

♻️ 7F5R Tuesday Tea & Tangle Challenge week March 23 and 30 with tangles Zoomies and 4Giving. I added the new tangle Zajo by Isabel Wallis. Tile is recycled cactus packaging paper.

...continued from previous post...

Day 48 & 61 - Quib and Borbz

Tangle Patterns: Quib, Borbz

Day 65 - Zajo...with iLeaf and my new tangle Loom I.Am (see below) on a water colored distressed and transparent gel Diva Dance engraved tile. It wasn't easy to draw, let alone shade on this tile because the background tangle Diva Dance felt like candle wax.

Tangle Patterns: Zajo, iLeaf, Loom I.Am

Day 68 - Fragment L002. Yet another bleached black tile. This tile I bleached about a week ago and it is still soggy and therefore almost impossible to draw on. If you want to shade with the tortillion you scrape the surface paper off. Have you ever tried to draw on a wet, soggy cardboard? And I still have a few of these tiles left.....

♻️ Day 63 - Hamail, day 75 - Emoball and day 76 - Panepinto. Again drawn on cacti wrapping paper which becomes quickly my favorite despite the paper being very thin.

Tangle Patterns: Rainbow Bridge, Yah

Day 24 - Rainbow Bridge on a very tricky tile. The tile was so distressed my pens scratched and slit over the paper, and sometimes the pens left no evidence they were ever running over a certain spot on the paper. My worst tile yet except for the colors.

Tangle Pattern: Rainbow Bridge

...to be continued...

Inspired by....

Inspired by...Fragment D001. Here it grows a bit in each star starting with star at 11 o'clock going clockwise. In the 2nd tile I digitally enhanced the stars according to growth from light to dark. Update May 20, 2021: The 'star" is now my new tangle X-Wing Star. Step out in next post.

A Fragment inspiration. I took the simple fragment FS-Z018 as a Reticula grid and placed it again within, 4 in all (below), decreasing in size, just like the Russian Matryoshka doll.

From my Garden

I have had cacti for...yeeears, but was pretty unlucky concerning blooming. I had already given up believing I have the wrong kind of cacti...e.g. males if there is such a thing, when I did a big cleanup. I changed their soil and gave them vitamins. Here is another result. 3 different cacti blooming in white, yellow and pink at the same time (there would have been 4, but I was too late taking the picture).

3 blooming cacti

14 cacti flowers

This is yet another beauty in my garden, Trinidad and Tobago's national flower Chaconia, or “Wild Poinsettia” or “Pride of Trinidad and Tobago”. It is a bush-kind of plant, but mine has but one stem which, after last year's 3 flowers, branched out into 3 stems. This year 2 of them sprouted out into 5 flowers where the longest is 38 cm/15 inches.

The 5 flowers, 2 big and 3 small.

This is the longest of my flowers, 38cm/15 inches...

Time to Kill

5th publication of the more difficult quiz, puzzle 17-20.

For newcomers, "SANDBOX" is the example of how to 'read' and solve the 4 following puzzles. The answers are at the bottom of this post in the smallest, tiniest font size just in case you accidentally scroll down and read what you didn't want to read just then.

Puzzles 17-20:

Animal Happy Day

I am sure you have heard the phrase: 'we can learn from animals'. Watch this video and guess what it shows we could learn from animals, too.

And here a short, heart touching video I found on Rumble.

C.O. checking in to make sure I do it correctly.

C.O. watching out

Best Spring wishes to all and enjoy the outside
with or without the latest fashion item...
