Refreshers

Refresher #220 with tangle pack Festune, Wavlin, Tupuk, Tupi and Earjool. I glued some gold leaf onto the tile, but using the stick glue it is a bit difficult to aim the leaf into its proper place.

Square One Feb 5-11 week with tangle Schirmchen. To be more exact it is 4 Schirmchen and 4 half Schirmchen.

Tangle Pattern: Schrimchen

Schirmchen ist a German word where 'Schirm' means umbrella and 'chen', a suffix, by itself means nothing, but makes the subject (umbrella) small. So in other words we have here the tile Paper Cocktail Parasols.

Square One Feb 19-25 featuring the tangle Onba and a lesson I learnt. It was the first time I used my black Glaze pen on a black tile, or on any tile for that matter, and already on the first stroke I was tempted to throw it. This is not for me. The pen is way too fat. Then I remembered what I learnt from doing those video tutorials: It might start looking bad/weird/unaccustomed, but keep doing and judge at the end. Needless to say, now I like the tile and it helped that I used the larger Phi tile.

100 Days of Zentangle

I missed the first 22 days of 100 Days of Zentangle, had no idea it was on, and then it took me a while to find the listing. So if you read this and also missed it, click here and it will lead you to The Tireless Tangler's YouTube channel where Cyndee Pelley adds a new tangle video for the next....until she reaches 100 days.

Inspired by...

...the tangle Cyclamen. I found it while looking for tangle patterns I can turn into fragments for my February Fragments.

Inspired by Zentangle Artists' Video Tutorials

On this tile I followed Ria Matheussen's February video wherein she glues a cut white tile onto a black square to simulate a half black half white Zentangle tile. I always wanted to try this technique, but it needed the original inventor of this trick video tutorial to get me going. Tangles are Aloha, Sand Swirl, Sez, Marasu, and Pokeleaf.

This Ravel tile looks a lot better when Shie Naritomi draws it here on her YouTube video. I admit, I didn't watch the whole video. was a bit in a hurry, and thus missed a few steps.

3rd publication of the more difficult quiz, puzzle 9-12.

For newcomers, "SANDBOX" is the example of how to 'read' and solve the 4 following puzzles. The answers are at the bottom of this post in the smallest, tiniest font size just in case you accidentally scroll down and read what you didn't want to read just yet.
