DIVA Challenge 327 & 328

I am a bit late for last week's DIVA #327 Challenge posted by guest blogger Henrike Bratz. At times things happen and have to be dealt with and then stuff like drawing takes the back seat. But I made up for it and drew two tiles for her this week.

Henrike's challenge includes two tangles, Diva Challenge... I mean Diva Dance and one of her own, Lisbon Fragments.

Diva Dance looks great when somebody other than me draws it. It reminds me of gorgeous Gourdgeous and Gourdgeous and I are not gourd friends. But me not being one to give up easily, I stoically faced the battle and got my DD tile done. Huff, puff.

However, I liked Lisbon Fragments and so I made a whola lot of them.

Thank you, Henrike, for a most challenging challenge.

DIVA Challenge #328 is posted by guest challenger Suzanne Fluhr. She wants us to draw Aloha, a tangle she created, but I think she got a Whole Lotta Love and help from no other than....

DINO!!! (and no, not Led Zeppelin)

Who is Dino you may ask. For that to find out you have to hop over to her site and find out yourself. My fingers are off the keys.

Since I made two tiles for Henrike it was only fair to make two tiles for Suzanne as well. So here Aloha #1 accompanied by the new tangle Ukkepuk (no, not mine) and 4-Corner Corolla (yes, mine - Please note the quick-witted, brainy, and very intelligent name).

Aloha #2 - Black & White vs Color - Almost a monotile, only accompanied by Tipple and Spinner Ball. Spinner Ball, another of my tangles... if nobody thought of it yet.

Suzanne, thanks so much for this great challenge. I enjoyed every stroke I made.

Remember my room mate from my DIVA #326 Update post? Shadow? And his skin growths removal? Well, I am happy to announce that his stitches are removed and he is A-OK again...and so am I!

Michele, if you happen to visit this page, I found Aimee. There is no mistake, this is Aimee.

  2. Wow Suzy, your tiles always surprises me and I like the ones for Henrike Bratz, my favorite of the two is the one with the Diva Dance, not drawn as most of us do but so what, it looks great to me.
About Suzanne's challenge I only can say Wow, I love the second tile with this black Aloha but for me, the first one is absolutely fabulous, this Ukkepuk inside the Aloha looks great, the colours are fantastic and I love the combination with your beautiful 4 corner-Corolla. What a coincidence that I have chosen the same, isn't it? (LOL) Anyway congrats for making such a wonderful composition.
I'm glad that Shadow looks much better and I agree, Aimee is a real moviestar!

    1. Thank you so much for you your very lovely comment, Ria, or shall I say comments? Don't worry, I won't draw DD again unless my arm is being twisted. By then I hope I will be able to actually DRAW Diva Dance in all its beauty. The second Aloha is meant to show black and white on one side and colored on the other. I wrote this post this night after midnight (check posted date) and completely forgot to mention it. YES, indeed, very coincidental, we both chose 4-Corner Corolla in our tile. Now, I can't prove I didn't 'steal' it from your tile (you posted first), but I made TWO!!!!! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

    2. I took a second look and yes, it is very nice and original to colour just the half of Aloha!

    3. It is like my progress in Zentangle. B&W = my old style; color = my new style.

  3. Your tiles are all very nice. I struggled with Lisbon fragment. I think that yours look great. Like how you individualized your Aloha.

    1. Donald, welcome and thank you for visiting my page and leaving such a kind comment. Lisbon fragment is actually very easy, but I have to admit, I got lost on the monotile a few times and had to navigate back by looking at it from the moon. As for Aloha, it took me these two tiles to realize I was drawing the initial line wrong = too flat, not curvy enough. That explains the way they turned out.

  4. Ukkepuk !!!! I haven't heard of this new tile. Is there a place I can go to get updated tangles? Very lovely tile.

    3. I believe you instantly. I could be that 'other' place. Well, sometimes I AM that 'other' place for my neighbor's black cat. But she or he doesn't trust Shadow so the visits are short.

    1. Maybe you like it because it looks a bit naughty...like it sticks out its tongue. Maybe it is. Thanks, Meridiana, for hopping by and leaving your uplifting comment. I noticed still quiet at your site...must be still hurting...

  8. I'm so happy to learn that Shadow is on the mend. (Dino sends his regards.) Thanks for participating in my Aloha challenge and for sharing your 2 tiles. I like the way you achieved two completely different moods---one is bright and "happy", the other, somewhat somber, spooky even. (BTW, I hopped over to check out your 4 Corolla tangle. Nice and I think even I can master it!)

    1. Shadow just kicked a paw kiss back to Dino. I thank YOU for introducing me to your Aloha tangle. It was pure joy to draw it! Spooky! SPOOKY! My fav Aloha tile she calls spooky. You just crushed my little world here. Will I ever recover?
Oh, you checked out my 4-corner Corolla tangle. Now that puts honey on my wound and you are completely exonorated!!! Oops, how do you spell that word? πŸ˜›

  9. All nice pieces, but that first one of Aloha really calls to me with the bold colors and interesting construction.

  10. Great stuff Susie, I did like the Gene Simmons style look to the first one, I didn't even know you were a Kiss fan?

So nice Shadow is out of the bandages and recovering. I loved the cat video I've had lazy cats but that one does take the cake....ok she probably wouldn't unless it was handed to her.

    1. Trudi, hi, thanks so much for your comments, but alas, Rolling Stones was on my mind at the time. But I know there is a calf out there that is a great fan of Gene Simmons when he is in his Kiss uniform.
Shadow is just fine and brain is working excellently, too. He knows exactly when it is treats time.
Hey, I am not commenting on Aimee...πŸ˜›
